Recommended for the serious sports person. Fish our best local waters, specific locations will depend on current weather and river conditions. The aim is to give you a comprehensive taste of our regions fly fishing. Packages including accommodation are available
A fly fishing course spread over three to five days where you learn the skills required to become a competent fly fisher. We look at the fundamentals of fly casting, how to spot, hook, play and land your fish, flies and insect life, tactics, river craft and conservation.
Visit an isolated backcountry location to fish infrequently visited water. Being out in the great out doors, in the middle of the Southern Alps is what this is all about, experiencing fishing the Kiwi way. Access is by 4x4, Helicopter or by tramping.
An opportunity to catch the King of the New Zealand Rivers. The size of these fish will set your heart racing. All salmon fishing is by jet boat and is generally on the Rakaia River. Be prepared for an early start as it's best to be on the water at first light.
Option 1 - Local rivers;
Locally helicopters can be used for quick access to local rivers. Note that most of these river are accessible by 4x4 and are not truly remote rivers.
Option 2 - Remote rivers, road trip;
We base ourselves close to some remote river systems from where we can fly into different rivers by the day or fly in and camp over night or for several days.
