Hi Steve,

Thanks for the recommendation for Chris Dore. He was not available, but recommended Paul Macandrew who guided for me. I would thoroughly recommend him if you were asked for a guide in the Queenstown/Wanaka area. We fished on the Mataura and hooked into five and landed two good fish on a pretty difficult day. He is really knowledgable, is very patient (as anyone guiding me needs to be) and is a very good coach. I had a really good day.

Paul is a fantastic guide. I fished with Paul in February 2011 when the lakes around Wanaka were at record levels and the rivers were running high and discolored. Paul managed to find fish despite these tough conditions and we had a memorable time on the water sightcasting to trophy browns around the lakes edges and backwaters.
