New Zealand's South Island
Member of the
New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association
My name is Martin Langlands and I have been a full time trout fishing guide since 1991, and also involved in fly fishing as a career since 1985. I have accumulated over 2300 professional guide days experience in South Island NZ . Complimenting and fully integrated into my guiding operation is my professional fly tying business with a deep passion for trout fly development and freshwater ecology. With my background and experience I have developed an intimate knowledge of New Zealand natural and cultural history.

I guide a wide range of waters such as Spring Creeks, Limestone Streams, Wild Freestone Rivers, small streams, Coastal Lagoons, Meadow Creeks, Lakes , low country and backcountry. Aside from the main speciality of helping visiting anglers catch larger Brown Trout, I have options for Brook Char, Sea Run Browns, and Rainbow Trout .
A very important aspect to my guiding operation is a flexible choice of guide bases and locations to suit our ever changing weather and water conditions. These are often small country towns that are well serviced and strategically places near waters to give best possible fishing at the time an important aspect with our ever changing weather and water conditions. I cater for all levels of experience and abilities and pride my self with adapting guiding to suit your expectations and preferences ranging from teaching beginners through to searching out South Islands largest Brown Trout .
I am available for single guide days out of Christchurch and Darfield but specialize in multi day guide trips though out South Island to suit your budget
