Sheep and cattle farms occupy most of this districts hill country and a heritage drive that is informative and will delight the curious minds of those whom wish to understand Maori and European culture.

Delightful small stream fishingStreams have water clarity that surpasses many world fisheries; big river fishing hosts enormous trophy trout. The big cruisers sit on the edges so site fishing will occur first then blind fishing to where your guide knows where the trout are laying in the deeper parts.

River conditions are normally excellent throughout the whole season as the watershed supports a high number fishing area's but travel outside the district may occur if conditions change. Your guide will make the appropriate choices.
