Introducing Fly Fishing Guide Michael Vetters

Hi I'm Michael Vetters, a fly fishing guide based in Gore; the "Brown Trout Capital Of The World"

I have been fishing since the young age of 8 when I received my first rod for Xmas from my uncle. I caught my first fish on my first day and have been hooked ever since. I obtained my first fly rod when I was 13 not long after I learnt to tie my own flies to suit rivers I was fishing. I am currently and have been since I started fishing, a member of the local angling club which has seen me out on the rivers in all sorts of weather conditions and locations which gave me the drive to catch more and bigger fish. So naturally I have built up an extensive knowledge of what is my backyard - Southland.

You'll find me in my spare time at the river looking for more great fishing spots and chasing after those elusive trout.
