My trout fishing obsession started back in the 70’s, where in form 1 & 2 at Lindisfarne College school Hastings, we had *Mr. Tony Orman as our fishing club teacher, our favourite subject of course.
I'm based on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island in Hawkes Bay Wine country. The Art Deco city of Napier has an airport and a variety of accommodation options that I can recommend to you. From here I can take you to some of New Zealand’s best trout fishing rivers and most magnificent country side, to help you catch really nice rainbow and brown trout and usually lot’s of them.
New Zealand has so many excellent rivers and such nice undeveloped countryside. It really gives me a real buzz to take clients to some of the most beautiful rivers in the world and for them to catch and release that wonderful fish the “Trout”.
I specialise in Sight Fishing for Trout on our local tributary streams with a combination of dry flies and nymphs. Which makes one cast hook ups possible and seeing trout move from a meter down to take a dry fly on the surface. Breath taking stuff...
